Fia Fia Night

"The Beauty of Samoa"

On May 27, 2022 we attended the FiaFia Night which is a cultural event put on by

the Samoan Club of Southern Oregon University.  There are a few members of the

ward that are part of this club that performed.  They were absolutely fantastic in their

performances. The performances of dance, song and readings gave us a beautiful

insight into their culture and what strong family ties they have.  We went with some

other ward members, the Guthries, Jorgensens and Fraziers.    

All the photos below are traditional dances performed by the Samoans.

This photo is at the end of the performance and is a traditional Samoan 

ending ceremony where a dance is performed and everyone shows 

their appreciation by throwing them money.
